Portal 2 is the sequel of the game puzzle Valve releases enough gamers to rack my brain. Set in several years after his first series, featuring a variety of missions that must be carried gamers, with various mechanisms of gameplay is very new, science-based physics, in order to match or even exceed the intelligence of the AI Overlord of Aperture Science, GLaDos.

Portal 2 is one of the success that can be achieved Valve in the world of gaming at the moment. Game itself has often won the title as the best games from various sites. Remarkably, the predicate is not even just for this year, there are also some sites that with the nerve to declare Portal 2 as one of the best games of all time.

Let’s remember the Portal first. Released by the year 2007 ago as part of the Orange Box, the game is quite short. Puzzle intelligent mechanism that is packed with first-person-shooter , and tells a fruitful scientific research dangers to the strains of distant dark humor. Games that actually don’t need a sequel, but Valve did a different path. And the result, very good. Read the rest of this entry »

Within the last few years, we have seen how the first-person shooter (FPS) developed into one of the most developed genre of game consoles in the era now. Start of Call of Duty , Battlefield , Halo until Killzone . Big names are packed FPS games with a storyline and feel that the strength and characteristics of each, but arguably had one of fairly basic equation in terms of gameplay. Basically, the titles were still running with the emphasis on gameplay thrill shooting and resolving all kinds of objectives needed to reach the round end of the story. So, maybe it is not wrong as when I pull the conclusion that the appeal of a FPS game in general, lies in the story and gameplay that essentially presents an exchange of gunfire from first person perspective. That’s the general. However, something with more value of course there will always be on the title that offers something more than the FPS games in general, like for example the latest game entitled Bulletstorm this.

Medal of Honor

The Good:

Well-paced campaign
Immersive dialogue
Taut multiplayer action.

The Bad:

Heavy-handed campaign scripting
Enemy AI isn’t terribly realistic
Some incongruous cutscenes
Steep multiplayer learning curve.

In the crowded first-person shooter market, it’s important for a game to carve out a niche–do something better than or different from its competitors. Medal of Honor tries to do just that by representing a real conflict that is really happening in a real country between two real opposing forces. From the chatter among the soldiers and the authentic weapons to the environmental continuity, there are many elements that enliven the campaign with an invigorating sense of realism. Unfortunately, this energy is diminished somewhat by a bunch of video game-y elements, like invisible walls, invincible allies, and an incongruous icon that pops up whenever you get a headshot. Before the discovery and destruction of an ancient alien ringworld, before a teeming parasitic enemy threatened Earth, before a soldier called John-117 made a new name for himself, humanity fought to defend the planet Reach. And though Halo: Reach is a prequel to all the Halo games that have come before, it represents the evolutionary pinnacle of the series. Read the rest of this entry »
